(6.3)  Sponsorship and support.

Projects must have support from all key sponsors (such as Councillors and Senior Officers) and other stakeholders such as School Governors. A project owner or 'local champion' who will be sufficiently well placed to promote and pilot the project and drive it to successful implementation should be identified. Typically this would be the Director for the relevant service area, the chief executive, or the executive member who has the authority to negotiate and ensure that the project is completed. There must be an effective communications strategy to liaise with all interested groups and keep them informed of progress / key decisions. Where affordability depends on funding from other parties, commitment by those bodies to the levels set out in the affordability assumptions must be demonstrated.
