4.1.22  General Storage

Suitably sized, based on the number of residents, storage shall be planned and distributed throughout each development. The provision shall be suitable for mobile hoists, wheelchairs, trolleys etc. The storage of these items in open circulation areas will not be permitted.

Internal doors shall be lockable if they lead directly into areas containing hazards such as cleaning materials or dangerous equipment.  

External doors to storage areas/plant rooms shall be constructed and secured so as to prevent any unauthorised access.
