5.1  Health and Safety

The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007 apply in respect of this project.

The Authority recognises its Client responsibilities for this project and has delivered the necessary HSE notifications and prepared a Health and Safety file32.  This is available for inspection in the Data Room.

It is currently anticipated that, upon appointment of a Preferred Bidder, the client responsibilities for the project will, insofar as the Regulations permit, be consolidated and passed to the Preferred Bidder (subject to the Authority satisfying itself that the Preferred Bidder is competent and understands the requirements imposed upon them) for the carrying out of all design, construction and maintenance works. The Contractor will thereafter ensure that the Client responsibilities are fully complied with and that a suitable appointment is made as the Principal Contractor.
