7  AVAILABILITY STANDARDS

This section contains a summary commentary on the principles and interpretation of the Availability Standards.  The detailed Availability Standards are contained within Annex II to this Output Specification.  Where conflict arises between this Section 7 commentary and Annex II, it is the latter that takes precedence.

The Availability Standards are applied to all Zones, albeit in their application some may not be applicable to individual Zones in every instance.  Where appropriate, these same standards apply to leasehold as well as tenanted apartments.

Once a Zone has been certified in accordance with section 6, the Contractor is required to ensure that each such Zone is Available and meets the Full Availability Standard set out in Annex II.

Service Works necessary as a result of action to maintain or a failure to meet any one of the Full Availability Standard are required to be carried out in such a manner as to achieve compliance with the Rectification Period.
