8.4.1 Required Outcomes
The Authority will require the Contractor to supply a professional, efficient, and reliable cleaning and waste management service. The Contractor will be responsible for the removal of waste from all the sites. There will be a wide range of environments within the new facility that will necessitate the Contractor to develop a flexible solution that can adapt to the day-to-day pressures of an Extra Care environment. There will be a need to develop firm liaison links with the Extra Care team to predict specialist cleaning requirements and amendments to planned activities.
The Contractor is to develop and implement an operational solution for managing the movement of internal waste within the facility and the removal and disposal of the waste off site. This will also include low levels of clinical waste. All forms of waste shall be sealed and stored in a place designated for storage until collection or disposal. Clinical waste including incontinence pads and disposable sharps shall be disposed of using a licensed carrier and disposal agent.
The Contractor is to develop a satisfactory pest control system that will proactively prevent infestations, and adequately respond to reactive requests where incidents of infestation are reported.
