8.4.4 Reactive Cleaning43
The Contractor shall provide a robust and effective reactive cleaning service at each site during Core Service Hours.
In respect of reactive cleaning, the Contractor will respond within a defined time period, which is categorised as follows:
Health & Safety hazard or impact causes cessation of activities | Response time will be [30 mins] | |
Urgent | Major impact on lifestyle or enjoyment of facilities | Response time will be [2 hours] |
Routine | Minor or no impact on lifestyle or enjoyment of facilities | Response time will be [4 working hours] |
In addition, the Authority also requires an exceptional cleaning service to support care staff outside of the Core Service Hours. The Contractor will respond within a defined period as follows:
Emergency (Outside Working Hours) | Health & Safety hazard or impact causes cessation of activities | Response time will be 1 hour |
In respect of the out-of-hours emergency service, the Contractor will be reimbursed costs by the Authority in accordance with the following table44.

The reimbursement is to be worked to an hourly basis and will be subject to the indexation provisions as set out in the Payment Mechanism.

43 Authorities need to consider the response times for reactive cleaning based on the nature of their project. Where projects have more than one site, this requirement may need reviewing to ensure value for money is maintained.
