8.8.5 Internal Planting
The Contractor shall keep all internal planting maintained to a high standard, with consideration given to planting such that it compliments the internal environment and creates an aesthetically pleasing overall effect.
Internal planting schedules shall pay particular attention to key community areas within the facility, namely:
a) Corridors and circulation spaces;
b) Lounges (communal and residents);
c) Restaurant;
d) Entrance hall; and
e) Reading room/library.
In particular:
f) Internal plants shall be maintained to provide a neat and tidy appearance with healthy growth, free from dead/ damaged/ infested/ diseased specimens, weeds, etc; and
g) The Contractor is required to develop a planned maintenance programme that includes the application of all fertilisers, herbicides and dressings necessary to sustain healthy growth, but to minimise the use of pesticides and chemicals harmful to health.
