8.4.3 Planned Cleaning
The Contractor shall keep the communal areas of Dwelling Blocks to a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness. Generally, areas must be cleaned to an acceptable standard on a daily basis, with planned cleaning for specialist items to ensure the required standards are maintained throughout. Daily cleaning activities shall be programmed such that disruption and disturbance to residents and visitors is kept to a minimum.
In particular:
a) Hard surfaces (floors, walls and ceilings) shall be materially free of dirt, stains and spillage (in so far as they are capable of being cleaned with a compound specifically designed for the purpose). Cleaning shall occur on a planned regular basis to maintain these standards;
b) All surfaces shall be free from litter or other foreign matter; and
c) Window cleaning of external and internal communal areas will be undertaken at regular intervals, [together with external cleaning to dwelling windows to multi-storey blocks]50.
The above is not intended to be a definitive list of cleaning requirements. In addition to these regular cleaning activities, the Contractor is to account for specialist deep cleans and other periodic activities to ensure the highest standards are maintained.
A waste management strategy shall be developed that includes waste recycling initiatives (linked to the Authority's initiatives where appropriate).
