8.6.10  Neighbourhood Management61

The Contractor must take reasonable steps to:

a)  reduce crime, fear of crime and improve the environment;

b)  reassure vulnerable community members and act as friendly and supportive figures to local people and visitors;

c)  foster social inclusion, particularly in relation to children and young people, the unemployed, homeless people, black and minority ethnic communities, asylum seekers and any other socially excluded group; and

d)  support neighbourhood management by adding value and contributing to the work of local initiatives, projects and services so that they are joined up and sensitive to local needs.

61 Where the Contractor is proposing the installation or maintenance of CCTV systems or neighbourhood wardens, the Authority may wish to develop some performance standards around these.
