15 Governing law and interpretation
15.1 This Appointment shall be governed by English law and the English courts shall have jurisdiction with regard to all matters arising therefrom.
15.2 In this Appointment unless the context requires otherwise:
(a) reference to "refurbishment" or "refurbishment works" includes catch-up repairs, improvements, elemental renewals (including life cycle works), contingent major repairs, maintenance for a period of 30 years and cyclical maintenance;
(b) "person" includes any firm and any entity having legal capacity;
(c) any term importing gender includes any gender;
(d) any term importing the singular includes the plural and vice versa;
(e) any reference to any clause or schedule or appendix is a reference to such clause or schedule or appendix of or to this Appointment; and
(f) any reference to any enactment includes any statutory consolidation, re‑enactment, amendment or replacement of it and any subordinate legislation under it.
15.3 Clause headings do not form part of or affect the interpretation of this Appointment.
