2.7 Dependencies
At the OBC stage, all the dependencies identified should have been investigated in detail and as many uncertainties as possible should have been eliminated. The key to successfully managing dependencies and avoiding unnecessary delays and complications to the project is to identify them early, build them into the project plan and review/address them through the governance structure.
• What dependencies, external factors or other programmes already underway might affect the project?
• Is a partnership with any other organisation required for success?
• Are there any related projects/programmes? (e.g. ICT corporate programmes / partnerships)
• Is external funding approval required?
• Is there a dependence on an available market?
• Does the project depend on stakeholder "buy in" and are there "crunch" issues which will need to be agreed?
