2  Network

2.1  Except as expressly set out in this Appendix, the Service Provider shall be solely responsible for designing, procuring, building, integrating, operating, monitoring and managing the Network.

2.2  The Service Provider warrants that the Network and the Services are fit for the Authority's purpose, namely the transport across the Network of the Authority's [voice, data and video traffic and internet access] as defined in the scope of this Agreement. The Service Provider shall ensure that the design of the Network allows the successful migration of the Authority's IP addresses from 25Existing Networks to the Network.

2.3  The Service Provider shall design the Network so that it complies with the requirements of this Agreement including Annex [x], Security and Annex [x], Technology Standards.

2.4  The Service Provider shall design the Network to comply with the Design Types detailed in paragraph [ ] below as applicable to the Site.

25  This sample assumes that the network is being provided by the Service Provider in place of an existing network and therefore this warranty is important to ensure that there is no service degradation as a result of the move to the new network.

26  It is generally appropriate to include an overview of the network architecture in the Agreement. This will obviously be unique to each network.

27  It is generally appropriate to include the network design requirements in the Agreement. This will obviously be unique to each network.

28  It is often the case that the Authorities can be categorised into a limited number of design types and that the majority of Sites match one of the standard design types for example all office facilities may require Type A whilst all storage facilities may require Type B being a less resilient network connection. This allows the technology (and applicable Service Levels) at different Sites to be tailored to the requirements at that Site.
