2.3 Instruction Note
The MISMA document set, and its relationship with other relevant documentation is outlined in Figure 1 (below), which also illustrates the two main functions of this Instruction Note, namely:
A. To set out the commercial context for the contract and outline the structure of, and relationship between, the Ts & Cs and the Schedules (function 'A' in Figure 1); and
B. To illustrate how the baseline MISMA can be tailored through further use of the provisions of the Model Agreement (function 'B' in Figure `1).

Users of MISMA who are not familiar with the Model Agreement provisions may wish to refer to the PDF versions of the latter's contract documents which contain embedded guidance on the intended function and application of each clause.
This Instruction Note also identifies when it may be appropriate to refer to a further document: OGC's "A negotiating guide for the public sector".
