5.3  Insurance arranged by Owner versus Non-Owner Participants

As part of preliminary work, the Owner must decide whether to obtain alliance insurance under an Owner-arranged or a Non-Owner Participant arranged framework.3 It could also be alliance-arranged (by the alliance Participants). Often alliances use a hybrid approach consistent with obtaining a best-for-project result and benefiting from the insurer relationships that Owners and Non-Owner Participants have with the insurance market.
