Airports are an integral part of Australia's economic infrastructure. Most airport activity is concentrated in the large airports, with the top 10 busiest Australian airports (in each of the eight capital city airports plus Gold Coast Airport and Cairns Airport) contributing to more than 80 per cent of total passenger traffic in Australia in 2011.208
