The Tasmanian Government has committed to developing an integrated Freight Strategy and a Transport Strategy.470 The Department of State Growth471 identified a number of priorities that are likely to feature. These include:
■ identifying objectives and principles to guide decision making within the transport system;
■ supporting service choice and competition across the Bass Strait;
■ efficient freight gateways;
■ land freight connections; and
■ delivering a single, integrated freight system.
