ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

This current edition of the Guidance on PPP Contractual Provisions, 2017 Edition ("Guidance") is largely based upon work done by the international law firm of Allen & Overy LLP, under a team led by Dolly Mirchandani, with the participation of Tim Scales, David Lee, Helga Van Peer, Tim Conduit, Fleur Clegg, Sarah Garvey and Valentijn de Boe. It builds on the Guidance's previous edition (the Report on Recommended PPP Contractual Provisions, 2015 Edition) as developed by a Paris-based team of the international law firm of Gide Loyrette Nouel, led by John Crothers, with the participation of Victor Grandguillaume and Barthélemy Littot. Funding for both publications was provided by the Public Private Infrastructure Advisory Facility (PPIAF). PPIAF, a multi-donor trust fund housed in the World Bank Group, provides technical assistance to governments in developing countries. PPIAF's main goal is to create enabling environments through high-impact partnerships that facilitate private investment in infrastructure. For more information, visit www.ppiaf.org.

The Guidance received expert technical support from various World Bank Group staff, including from the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA), the International Centre for Settlement of Investor Disputes (ICSID), the Global Infrastructure Facility (GIF), as well as the World Bank's Public-Private Partnerships Group. In addition, special thanks is due to the Global Infrastructure Hub (GIH), the African Legal Support Facility (ALSF), the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) as well as all those organizations, entities and firms that participated in the public consultations conducted on the contents of the Guidance.

With the support of Allen & Overy LLP, the various comments and suggestions from all of the above sources were edited by Christina Paul and Susanne Foerster, lawyers within the World Bank's Public-Private Partnerships Group.
