21. The Department has been taking time to reflect on what went wrong on Crossrail. In April 2019 the Department and the Infrastructure and Projects Authority (IPA) published a report which captured lessons from what has gone wrong on Crossrail and a number of other major transport projects. During our evidence session, the Department set out what it considered to be the main lessons to be learned from what has gone wrong on the Crossrail programme.46
