5.4 The Interim Report mentioned various other contract documents. The New Engineering Contract (NEC) has recently (1993) been published by the Institution of Civil Engineers, and is already in use. The British Property Federation's System (1983) is not of itself widely used, but significant elements of it now appear in JCT 81 (With Contractor's Design). The general approach of the BPF System is also followed by the NEC. The SEACC procurement system, published initially by the Electrical Contractors' Association and since approved by the SECG, does not yet seem to have been taken up. But some of its features are increasingly favoured, and are recommended later in this Report.
