Direction

We recommend that, under the guidance of the Minister and his high level team, "Construction Sourcing" should be directed by a small group able to represent the interests of the industry and its clients. Members of this and associated bodies recommended should have significant relevant experience and could be chosen from :

• The Department of the Environment

• Confederation of British Industry

• Construction Industry Council

• Construction Industry Employers Council

• Specialist Engineering Contractors Group

• National Specialist Contractors Council

• Institute of Directors

• British Property Federation

• European Construction Institute/Business Round Table/Major Projects Association

• Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply

However, as we expect that clients (including Government clients) will be the prime movers for change, we recommend that "Construction Sourcing's" direction should include substantial representation from clients committed to its objectives at chief executive level.
